Submission deadline

The deadline for submission of Abstracts is June, 22th, 2015

The Organizing and Scientific Committee of the 1st International Congress on Complementary and Alternative Medicine invites you to submit papers for Presentations (Oral or Poster). All presentations at 1st International Congress on Complementary and Alternative Medicine will be subject to review for scientific merit by the international scientific committee, and have to be submitted via the congress web site.


Please find below some useful information about the type of papers required to be submitted and its prerequisites.


Guidelines for submission

  • Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance for the abstract to be published in the official meeting publications.
  • Presenting authors of abstracts must be registered participants. Registration fees must be received by the Secretariat to ensure inclusion of the abstract in the meeting publications and in order to be scheduled for presentation.
  • Abstracts must be original and must not be or have been published or presented in other related conferences.
  • Abstracts can be submitted and presented both in English and Persian.
  • Abstract text should be 250 words or less excluding the abstract title, author names and affiliations.
  • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission to the Secretariat.

Abstract preparation

Before you begin, please prepare the following information

  • Presenting authors and co-authors details including; Full first and family name (s);
  • Authors’ names must be in upper and lower case (e.g. Davies J.);
  • Affiliation details: department,institution/hospital,city,state (if relevant),country; Abstract title – limited to 50 words; Abstract text – limited to 250 words, including acknowledgements (Please Note: word count is affected when graphs/tables/images are included)
  • We recommend using word-processing software (for example,Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words.
  • Abstracts should clearly state: Title,Authors (the corresponding authors name should be underline), Affiliation,  Introduction, Method, Results, Conclusion, Keywords (3-5 words and MeSH-based) and E-mail, Postal Address, Mobile Phone.
  • Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word appear the first time. Use generic names of drugs. Express numbers as numerals.
  • Abstract topics and research category – abstracts must be allocated to a specific category for the Scientific Program. You will need to select a topic most suited to your abstract. To preview the topics – please see  here.
  • Tables – A maximum of 2 tables of up to 10 rows x 10 columns can be included per abstract.
  • Graphs and images – A maximum of 2 images can be included per abstract. The maximum file size of each graph/image is 500 KB. The maximum pixel size of the graph/image is 600(w) x 800 (h) pixel. You may upload graphs and images in JPEG format only.
  • The text of the abstract should as following:
    • The fonts should be Nazanin (Persian) or Times New Roman (English).
    • The font size of abstract should be 12 in Persian and 10 in English text.
    • The font size in title should be 14 and Bold with the same font.
    •  The font size of author name(s) should be 11.
    • The font size of authors affiliation should be 10.

Abstract submission

  • In order to submit your abstract you must fill in the abstract submission form.
  • After submitting your abstract you will receive a unique number which will be your reference number for all your communications with the secretariat or any further inquiries you might have.
  • You can use your reference number in order to update your Abstract.

Abstract publication

Accepted abstracts will be published online and on the Congress booklet and CD the same as what was submitted,which will be provided at the Conference package.


Abstract selection and presentation

All abstracts will be peer- reviewed (blind peer-review) by the scientific committee. Consideration will be given to the authors preference concerning poster or oral presentation. Presenting authors will be notified via e-mail by June 1th,2015 regarding the status of their abstract acceptance. The accepted abstracts will be published as submitted and the rights and responsibility of the accuracy and scientific value is for the authors.
